Construction Estimator – Civil / Site Work / Concrete

Gardenville Landscape & Nursery, LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Western New York.

Gardenville is an established construction contractor performing municipal, school, commercial and private projects throughout Western New York. Our work includes site development, excavation, drainage, concrete, playground construction, splash pads, fencing and landscape construction.

We are looking for an experienced estimator who can take a project from plans and specifications through a complete bid and work closely with our project management and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, addenda and bid documents
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs
• Develop labor, equipment and material costs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Prepare complete project estimates and bid proposals
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions and potential project risks
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Prepare pricing for change orders and additional work
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
• Work with project managers and field personnel to compare estimated versus actual costs
• Help improve estimating procedures and historical cost information

Qualifications

• Construction estimating experience preferred
• Civil, site work, excavation, concrete or general construction experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
• Public, municipal or school construction experience is a plus
• Experience with prevailing-wage projects is a plus
• Proficiency with Excel and PDF/takeoff software such as Bluebeam
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
• Good understanding of construction means and methods

We will consider candidates with backgrounds as an Estimator, Senior Estimator, Project Manager/Estimator, Assistant Estimator, or an experienced construction professional looking to move into a full-time estimating role.

Compensation

$75,000–$105,000+ per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
